- Chapter 15 - My healing is the strongest... a stab through the chest won't kill me.
-The guys who came into the examination room were disarmed by ‘Integrate’.
I haven’t confirmed the hit yet, so I can’t say for sure.
From here, we kicked the heads of those who fell and hit them again if necessary.
“… doctor.”
But I couldn’t let go of Dr. Chloe’s body.
It was my fault…
If I hadn’t forced a medical appointment, she would have retired by now.
Why couldn’t I have predicted it, even though I had the power of accelerated thinking?
If I had been closer to the door, I would have had a way to deal with it.
This, such a thing…..
“I am so glad that you are so kind, John.”
Dr. Chloe’s fingertips stroke my cheek.
Nonsense. Why…. I just saw how she got pierced through her chest?
“Don’t look at me like I’ve woken up from the dead.
My healing is the strongest… A stab through the chest won’t kill me.”
Dr. Chloe holds up two fingers as she says this.
“It’s the victory piece. Don’t you know it?”
“No, I’ve never heard of it before.”
“Hmm, so it’s true that you have amnesia…”
Chloe stands up with me on her shoulder.
“I’ve never heard of it before.”
“No, it’s just that this is all I have left. It could be an accident”.
“… Uhm, you didn’t get killed, huh? While using a pistol.”
The doctor observes the two fallen enemies and sees that they are not dead.
That’s quintessential. How can you tell when you haven’t even touched them?
“You used a ray gun in a non-lethal setting. Well, it could have killed them.”
“Alright, now we can pull the information out of them. John. You’ll help me, won’t you?”
First, I carefully tied up the two fallen enemies, and then I put a bed in front of the door.
It’s a simple barricade.
“If these guys don’t leave, I’m sure we’ll get enemy reinforcements, so let’s get them to tell us everything before they do.”
I thought about taking them with me, but decided against it because it was more difficult than expected to carry two unconscious people. It would be a short-term interrogation.
I’m sure they’ll be fine since their hands and feet are tied, but let’s pull out the ‘Integrate’.
“I’ll begin. John, please look scared and hold that pistol.”
Dr. Chloe said this and scooped some water from the cup that had been filled with orange juice.
She scooped up the water I was dunking my head in and splashed it in the guy’s face.
“What the ….?”
“You’re awake, Mr. Terrorist?”
“Nah, I thought I killed you…?”
The man who said the eyes were real. There is definitely something wrong with his eyes.
How should I say it, the whites of his eyes have turned black and the black eyes have turned red.
“For a man who imitates more brutality than the empire, you seem to have less knowledge than the empire.
Didn’t you know? Priests can kill, but they don’t die.”
Chloe kicks the man in the face as she says this.
The force of the kick is so great that the man’s cheek is almost ripped open.
I guess the pointed shoes for women helped.
“Does it hurt?”
The doctor asks the man with a kindly face.
He nods and she heals the man’s wounds with the blessing of healing.
I wondered why she was doing that, but I soon found out why…
“Hey!!!”
This time, the fountain pen she was using for the examination was thrust into the man’s collarbone.
“Well, now. Do you understand the situation? The meaning of making the priest an enemy.
Now I am going to ask you a question.”
“Wha, what…?”
Chloe thrusts her fountain pen at the man again the moment he opens his mouth.
“Who allowed you to speak?’
“Okay, okay… forgive me, forgive me …”
“It depends on your attitude. I have two people I can ask questions to.”
Dr. Chloe strokes the man’s wounds as she says this.
… Is this the end of your grasp?
From now on, no matter what happens, let’s not turn this person into an enemy.
“First of all, who are you guys?”
“Anti-Imperialist Addingil Section, my name is….”
From there, the man blabbered on without any torture of any kind.
He was just an amateur and did not seem to have any training in torture.
“…we’re here for the president of the Waku Group who is in this hospital.”
“Why did you occupy the hospital itself?”
“You know why, Priestess? He’s got an escort.”
If I were Dr. Chloe, I would have hit him one more time here, but surprisingly, she didn’t. I wonder if it was because she had instilled fear in him with the initial torture, so there was no need to hurt him with her own anger.
“Are you saying that you need a hostage because there’s an escort?”
“Oh, and the Imperial Army base is close by. We needed them in order to cross over as equals. But we’re not going to kill people for nothing, are we?”
I let myself be overcome by the anger that was rising up and pointed the barrel of the Integral’s gun at him.
“One man died in the fire because of you guys.”
“That’s because he didn’t follow our advice….”
“Ha, you said it, didn’t you? You said you have killed him.”
It’s obvious that if you set up a technique like that, you’re going to get dead people.
And this guy clearly intended to kill Dr. Chloe.
“Hmmm, aren’t Imperial soldiers scary?
They are much scarier than I am, so please be careful.”
Chloe’s gaze told me to lower my gun.
I guess I’ve interrupted the interrogation…
“Well, let’s split the story, shall we?
The technique of burning people away from the church hospital, what is that?
It’s not supposed to be set up by a bunch of playboys like yourselves.”
Dr. Chloe asks, holding a fountain pen to his throat.
… you are much scarier than I am. I’m more scared of you than you are of me.
“Playing…”
“I’m not playing with you.
You’re the kind of people who go to hamburger shops to make a fuss.”
“You’ve never been in a war with the empire, have you? You.”
I don’t know how the priestess could see that.
The man just nodded at Dr. Chloe’s words.
I wonder if she saw through it in some way that I didn’t.
“So, who’s the guy? Who could set something like that up?”
“I can’t tell you, that man is a savior…”
Dr. Chloe sticks a fountain pen in the man’s neck.
She pulls it out and stomps on the man’s head.
“…that wound, if I don’t heal it, you will die.
I told you, I have two people to listen to.
I don’t want to waste my time.”
The man screams at Chloe as she continues to mercilessly stomp him.
“Your screams are of no use to me! Are you going to talk or not?
If you’re going to obey the savior, shall I help you…? ”
Chloe crouches down and thrusts a fountain pen at him. Just before she pushed it in, the man began to speak.
“Marlo, Marlo, the wizard, came to us.
He gave me this eye, too, because the Empire killed my family.”
“The eye of clairvoyance, isn’t it?”
The man nodded at her words. I see, it was given to him by a wizard.
If he was a human wizard, he would have the same roots as the priestess, but it’s so different.
Is the difference natural if you call magic a unique development of God’s power…?
“Marlo is also the one who set this up.”
“What are the conditions for canceling it?”
“Unless he himself releases it, it can’t be solved…”
Dr. Chloe heals the man’s wounds.
“Where is this Marlo fellow now?”
“He should be in the Great Hall, if he hasn’t gone to President Waku.”
“I see. And how many people are involved in this operation?”
I’m told there are 30 people. That was the man’s answer.
I guess he hadn’t been told the whole story.
Looking at the protesters, I have a feeling that they are not that organized.
“You’ve heard all you need to know. Jonathan.”
Dr. Chloe turns her gaze on me.
Jonathan is probably a pseudonym, but I see, she wants me to turn on the Integrale.
“Hic…, wait a minute.”
“I’ve heard all I need to know, I don’t need you anymore.”
“Wait a minute! I heard there’s another one!”
Dr. Chloe turns her cold eyes on the man.
“Thirty people becoming thirty-one won’t change anything, sir.”
“No, they’re mixed up among the hostages. So I don’t do anything careless, don’t worry.”
“Who is it? Is it a man, a woman, or what?”
Grabbing the man by the chest, Chloe asked.
“I don’t know, I don’t know anything more!”
‘”Jonathan! I’ll ask the other one. Shoot him.”
“Are you sure you want to do this? Doctor..”
In reading her eyes, she didn’t mean to deactivate the non-lethal setting.
So I left the original setting and shot the ‘Integrale’ into the guy.
I waited a bit for him to tell me what he was going to do, but in the end, he didn’t tell me anything.
“…, I really could have killed him.”
“So, doctor, are you going to ask the other one?”
“I’d like to ask him if we’re taking all precautions, but I really think reinforcements are on the way.”
That’s certainly a strong possibility.
“John, what would you do? Do you want to get dressed and surrender?”
“No, I’ll go with you. We’re going to crush these damned anti-imperialists, aren’t we?”
I knew what I was capable of when I neutralized these two men.
The magician named Marlo is an uneasy factor, but other than that, it’s out of the question.
He is too weak compared to the diversionary force led by that sword saint.
“Phew, I’m sorry I’m sorry for getting you involved in the hospital’s affairs.”
“If I hadn’t forced the appointment in the first place, the doctor wouldn’t be here, right?”
“Yes. This is another divine coincidence. I’m going to need your help, John.”
