EX rank supporting role’s replay in a prestigious school - Chapter 847 - Side (12)
In Eungwang High.
No people were coming and going at all when Docheol used the Jin, but passersby gradually increased after the Fomorian demon retreated.
The skill that hindered their awareness and blocked passage near them had disappeared.
When Sung Gukeon, and Kim Shinrok, who was in the guise of Jeon Muyeong, were about to move, a being more troublesome than a demon approached them.
“Hi?”
Yong Jegun appeared with his eyes narrowed and a shameless expression on his face.
He used to go around with his eyes wide open, but he recently began narrowing them again.
There was no need to do that since he’d thrown away his divinity, but Yong Jegun did it purposefully.
He said he enjoys people’s reactions when he suddenly opens his eyes.
In the past, just seeing his face was enough to elicit a deep anger in Sung Gukeon, but now he just started laughing.
‘I knew he would come right when it disappeared. It wouldn’t have been fun watching from afar.’
Yong Jegun came to see Sung Gukeon and Jeon Muyeong after their replay.
They had an honest conversation that day and resolved all the built-up misunderstandings, which, for the record, were unilaterally developed by Sung Gukeon and Jeon Muyeong while Yong Jegun knowingly provoked them.
It wasn’t easy to talk to each other given the festering issues and Yong Jegun didn’t mind the existence of misunderstandings.
Nevertheless, the conversation between the three went well.
Half of it can be attributed to Sung Gukeon’s understanding, and half thanks to Kim Shinrok who wasn’t even in the conversation.
‘The Professor is posing as Muyeong, so he may want to look at him close up and talk. He’s well-prepared so I’ll just watch.’
If it were the old Sung Gukeon, he would’ve immediately intervened the moment Yong Jegun showed signs of playing pranks on his teacher.
He would’ve mobilized the kids in Class Zero to keep Yong Jegun away from his professor.
If that wasn’t possible, he would call in a different professor in the guise of career counseling, but he couldn’t do that too often because it would worry the professors.
Yong Jegun enjoyed the students’ reactions so he spurred his pranks even further, perpetuating a vicious cycle.
‘I wouldn’t have intervened so much if I had known that they were friends. I would’ve watched like now.’
Now is much different.
He knows the extent of what Yong Jegun would do for Kim Shinrok.
With Sung Gukeon’s tacit consent, Yong Jegun approached Kim Shinrok.
“Hi?”
“…”
Kim Shinrok, in the guise of Jeon Muyeong, made a disapproving face, the expression allowing Sung Gukeon to understand Yong Jegun’s feelings just a little.
But he would never dare do such a cruel thing to his teacher.
Grinning, Yong Jegun said,
“Aren’t you going to return my greeting? I thought we became close these days, Muyeong. Are we not?”
“…Hello.”
“Yeah, hello. I think you really like that design, Muyeong. It’s the same design of your suit last time, but the fabric looks different.”
Kim Shinrok’s lips moved a little as if he wanted to retort, but he was unable to say anything.
He always completes the act whenever he uses his skill to borrow someone’s face.
He would adjust all details up to the fabric and buttons, but he couldn’t do it this time.
Since he’s supposed to portray a fake Jeon Muyeong, he made it a bit sloppy.
It was a calculated action, but Kim Shinrok felt agitated because Yong Jegun was acting like he was wise for pointing out a loophole.
“What’s wrong, Muyeong-ah? Do you have something to say?”
“…No.”
“Hahaha, really? You can say whatever you want. Today is Teachers’ Day, right? Why don’t I buy you something to eat?”
“…There’s no need.”
Kim Shinrok looked like he wanted to punch Yong Jegun.
He might’ve thrown a tack if Sung Gukeon wasn’t there.
Seeing his face, Yong Jegun was greatly satisfied.
His professor’s emotions seeping out from Jeon Muyeong’s face almost made Sung Gukeon burst out laughing.
‘Professor Yong Jegun must be doing it on purpose. Even a kind teacher gets agitated in the face of a friend’s pranks.’
Sung Gukeon judged that there was no threat around him.
Since the number of people around them are increasing, it would be a good idea to leave.
Although the opponent has no direct eye over the area, it’s possible that they’d be tracked through ordinary recording devices.
Since Sung Gukeon is supposed to look like a face, he needs to show that he is flustered and feigning calmness.
Sung Gukeon suggested something
“Let’s go for now. We were planning on having dinner at the Hwangmyeong Tower today. Would you like to join us, Professor Yong Jegun?”
“Yeah, I wanna.”
Yong Jegun replied with no hesitation.
He scratched Kim Shinrok’s mind a few times while on the move, but the latter held it together.
He thought he just had to wait until they arrived at the Hwangmyeong Tower.
It might seem like the Hwangmyeong Tower was operating as usual, but security in areas directly managed by the Tiger Clan had been fixed several times.
As soon as they passed through the employee entrance and entered the golden-doored elevator, Kim Shinrok deactivated his skill.
Crack, crack.
As he returned to his body, the sound of bones and muscles realigning was heard.
Although Kim Shinrok and Jeon Muyeong had similar physiques, they had differences in height, shoulder width, and muscle mass, so all of that had to be adjusted with energy waves.
Sung Gukeon watched with a calm expression, but he didn’t feel well.
‘He didn’t change his body with magic. He’s adjusting his muscles and bones with energy waves. That must’ve hurt.’
Kim Shinrok’s face, which would distort at the slightest teasing from Yong Jegun, remained neutral as he released his skill.
It was like he was accustomed to pain.
Sung Gukeon glanced at Yong Jegun and saw him smiling still, but the playfulness was gone.
Yong Jegun kept his mouth shut while Kim Shinrok worked on his body, unamused.
When he was done, Yong Jegun said,
“You’re done now? What a shame. It was fun when you were acting like Muyeong.”
“Why the hell did you come? Your role was to look around and make sure the eye disappeared.”
“How could I miss the chance to make fun of you, Shinrok-ah?”
Hwik!
Unable to bear it, Kim Shinrok suddenly threw three tacks at Yong Jegun’s mouth despite Sung Gukeon’s presence.
Sung Gukeon was impressed by the neat movement, but Yong Jegun was more nimble than Kim Shinrok, dodging and retrieving all the tacks between his fingers.
Kim Shinrok clicked his tongue as Yong Jegun grinned.
That’s when Sung Gukeon decided to intervene.
“I want to hear about the other sites. Let’s look at what happened at Tanrae Middle School?”
“…Alright.”
Kim Shinrok hesitated but then apologized for his indecent behavior.
Saying there was no need to worry, Sung Gukeon was actually quite satisfied that the professor was comfortable enough in front of him to act like that.
Kim Shinrok explained the situation at Tanrae Middle School.
“So a natural energy wave was released, and then energy waves from royal lineages were sucked in? That’s when Hyodon and his group were sucked in?”
“Yes. That’s why none of the Tiger Clan on standby were able to move in time for the transition. But Euishin prepared a plan…”
Sung Gukeon nodded as Kim Shinrok’s explanation continued.
Jo Euishin, an excellent Class Zero junior, seemed to have successfully countered the opponent’s strong move.
But it seems like there was something that even Jo Euishin couldn’t have predicted.
“Soohyuk and his bodyguard were there. Weren’t they caught up in the sudden energy wave surge?”
“I think they were somewhere else and watching Tak Geosan’s group from a distance.”
They were amazed to hear that Joo Soohyuk and Kim Chul successfully followed Maeng Hyodon and his group.
Even if they weren’t caught up in the surge, it wouldn’t have been easy to stay together after the transfer.
Just a little hesitation would mean they’d fall behind, but Joo Soohyuk jumped in head first for his friend.
Indeed, Joo Soohyuk was a talent that caught Sung Gukeon’s eye even in the Replay.
‘Soohyuk said he was close to Euishin. It would be nice if those two joined hands and moved together…’
Sung Gukeon was worried that Jo Euishin doesn’t always ask his classmates for help.
However, as long as their opponent had Eungwang High as its target, there was a need to make students aware of the danger and have them work together.
It might be safer if Jo Euishin fought together with them rather than trying to protect everyone.
Sung Gukeon took a mental note to convince Jo Euishin after this operation.
“Even if the natural energy wave phenomenon can be controlled… Euishin mentioned the same phenomenon during the Kimopolea incident. Does it have anything to do with that?”
“The entity behind it is the same, but it’s different this time. The Tiger Clan caught the one who caused that phenomenon on the Kimopolea.”
A faint anger appeared on Kim Shinrok’s face.
That person tore Jeokho’s flesh with the Jogangryeob so it couldn’t be helped.
Sung Gukeon didn’t know about that, but he changed the topic in consideration of Kim Shinrok’s feelings.
“Have you heard from Euishin yet? I’m really worried about Muyeong, but I’m sure both of them would be safe.”
“We’ll be able to confirm that soon.”
Yong Jegun said so as he gestured at the door knob engraved with a golden tiger.
In no time, they arrived at the top floor of the Hwangmyeong Tower, in front of the innermost room.
It seemed like the head of the Tiger Clan was waiting inside.
Although communication through the device wasn’t possible, information can be relayed through the Tiger Clan head’s alter ego.
Creak…
The door opened as if waiting for them.
As soon as it did, they felt the air become significantly heavier.
Just taking a step beyond the door made them feel pressure.
Even Yong Jegun closed his mouth as he stared across the room.
‘…It doesn’t feel like the atmosphere for talking. What happened?’
At the head of the table was someone wearing a school uniform.
It was Hwangho in the form of Hwang Jiho.
All three of them each had something they wanted to ask, but the sight of Hwangho made them forget what they wanted to say.
A dark shadow was cast over Hwangho’s face.

thanks for the chapter.
well… regarding a shady fox-eyed person,
it’s true that normally they could make others suspicious of them, and when they actually “opened” their eyes, other people would often marvel at this “magnificent” sight. Tho, in Yongje’s case, it didn’t really matter, as his existence himself was suspicious.
As for pranking a principled (and image conscious) person? That’s a wonderful notion (and I also follow this vision). It’s really fun to tease them… hehehe
And finally a character that could convey my wish!! Tell it to Euishin, Gukeon-ssi. While it’s nice wanting the will to protect others, trying to shoulder all the burden was too foolishof a notion,
Lastly, a schedule for scolding Euishin should be in place now.

Thanks for the update! Communication is very good. I’m very glad they all talked it out. Even to the point Gukeon lets him have fun. I think it’s nice, that Shinrok is getting a lot more support now. It happened a while ago but i can hardly imagine the weight off his chest when he no longer had to fear his precious student hating him after finding out the truth. Hopefully, one day, he’ll have his mother too. Anyways, I’m honestly kinda scared on how ruthless Jiho will be with the enemy. Obviously, I support it, but considering he already has his own looser morals… it might get gorey. I don’t think Jiho will let him off so easily as to just kill him, but I can’t think of any methods that would properly convey his rage, even through torture. Hurting Euishin like that is a most serious crime, after all.

Thank you for the chapter, Ms. Translator! (´• ω •`)ノ
Even Yong Jegun didn’t dare speak, haha. ^^
Will Hwangho capture him then? He looks like he has many escape routes, though.
And let’s not forget Hondon being there too.
Yep, it’s better to ask for their help than for them to act alone by themselves. it’s safer. ( ´ ω ` )
Nice chapter as always, and looking forward to more! (◕‿◕)♡
