- Chapter 826 - Countermeasure (9)
The sponsor, the CEO of the Moon Rabbit Rice Cake, is a TC Knights fan.
The head of the Rabbit Clan openly reveals herself as a royal lineage.
Those were enough for Ok Toyeon to be selected as the first pitcher in such an important game.
‘It’s not as much Yeom Junyeol last year, but there are a lot of people who recognize her.’
Ok Toyeon took off her baseball cap and waved her hand.
White rabbit ears popped out from the cap, eliciting an “Ooh” from the crowd.
Although Ok Toyeon shows her red eyes, she usually hides her ears.
It seems like she showed it for fan service.
With her ears revealed, she took a wind-up stance and threw the ball.
‘That’s decent velocity, but her control is terrible.’
She must’ve been so determined to throw it well that she gave unnecessary strength.
If the catcher hadn’t reflexively stood up and extended his arm, the ball would’ve gone to the dugout.
Ok Toyeon’s eyes opened wide when it looked like she was going to miss, but when the catcher nodded and assured her, she came down from the mound with a wide smile.
Even for the old royal lineage, control doesn’t seem to be easy.
“If yours truly had thrown it, such a miserable scene wouldn’t have occurred.”
Hwang Jiho spoke without anyone asking.
Before the game started, Ok Toyeon reached us at the center seats.
She wanted to talk to me right away.
“Oh!”
“…”
Before reaching me, she ran into Song Daesok.
Song Daesok’s shirt had the phrase “Min Geurin +25cm” on his shirt courtesy of Kwon Lena, and it was visible as he turned slightly to avoid Ok Toyeon’s gaze.
‘Looks like those two worked together in an important project at the association other than the Moon Palace.’
I didn’t hear much about it, but I heard from Hong Gyubin that Team Leader Im Jihwa was tied to her work because of it.
I also heard that the satellite team’s workload is heavy lately, and that the project is progressing very slowly due to the government’s recent efforts to respond to the troubles with the satellite.
Since Song Daesok and Ok Toyeon have been at the center of the satellite team since last year, it’s likely that they’re involved in that project.
The two became acquainted while working together, but since they’re dealing with a secret project, they might be reluctant to greet each other outside work.
‘Yeah, it’s not good for the two of them to reveal their connection in a public place.’
That’s why Song Daesok turned his head.
Ok Toyeon, who almost greeted him, averted her red eyes a half-beat late.
The sight was so awkward that it made Hwang Jiho click his tongue.
I decided to intervene.
“Hello.”
The moment I greeted her, Ok Toyeon looked at me with joy and relief.
In an instant, Ok Toyeon almost flew toward me.
“Yeah, hi! Did you see me throw the ball? Did I do well?”
“Yes, I watched it well.”
I wouldn’t say that she threw it well, but I didn’t want to lie.
Ok Toyeon chatted away, having a lot of things she wanted to say.
She spoke to me like I was her nephew, saying things like “I wanted to watch a game with you but I haven’t been able to come,” “I’m really busy preparing for a new business,” “Did you enjoy the rice cakes I sent you?” and “Do you want anything you want to eat?”
Since the head of the Rabbit Clan was doing that to me, of course, it attracted attention.
“He’s got lots of connections, right Hani?”
“…”
“Didn’t they work together while attacking an otherworld?”
“I don’t think that’s it, Lena. Hyodon was there too, but the clan head isn’t showing any interest in him.”
“Hmm… They’re selling drinks on the go over there! They’re carrying two containers so I bet they have non-alcoholic drinks.”
Kim Yuri changed the topic when the kids in our class started paying attention to me and Ok Toyeon.
I felt sorry for always being indebted to my trustworthy class president.
Hwang Jiho looked like he wanted to throw Ok Toyeon away somewhere, but I signaled to him not to interfere.
The thought of a high school student Hwang Jiho calling Ok Toyeon a “damned moon rabbit” gave me a headache.
Oblivious of my hardships, Ok Toyeon just looked excited.
“You’re dressed in the same shirt as the kids in your class! DCB? What’s that?”
She wasn’t very excited about the consonant quiz last 12-point alliance meeting, but Ok Toyeon started guessing with all kinds of nonsense.
Before I could tell her the correct answer, the culprit behind the acronym showed up.
“Are you curious, Toyeon-ssi?”
“Ahk! It’s Yong Jegun!”
“I was at the otherworld attack that time too. Did you forget?”
As if he had been watching the whole time, Yong Jegun glanced to where Ok Toyeon first looked.
Song Daesok and Min Geurin were sitting peacefully.
Yong Jegun smiled brightly at them and said,
“I’m Euishin’s assistant homeroom teacher, you know? But it looks like you know other kids in our class too. Right, Geurin-ie? Daesok-ah?”
“W-who knows who!”
“Looks like you know each other.”
“I didn’t say anything! What do you know!”
Ok Toyeon’s response didn’t really help.
A little coaxing from Yong Jegun would blow any cover that Ok Toyeon has.
Before I could intervene, Ok Toyoon appeared.
“Toyoon unnie! Where were you?”
“I had something to discuss with the baseball club official. I thought we would be safe here, but looks like Yong Jegun is here.”
There’s really no problem in terms of safety.
A lot of excellent players from Eungwang High are here, and Hwang Jiho too.
I guess the only problem is Yong Jegun.
“I see you’re here too, Toyoon-ssi. Is your training going well?”
“Thanks to you, Jegun-ssi. Rumor was it that you were going to ascend, but I see you haven’t?”
“Yeah, do you see this? It was written by the kids in my class.”
Taking advantage of Ok Toyoon distracting Yong Jegun, Ok Toyeon quietly retreated.
Even the Ok Toyeon, who doesn’t lose to Hwang Jiho, seems reluctant to deal with Yong Jegun.
“I watched the first pitch well. Hello, CEO Ok Toyeon.”
“I see you’re here too.”
Ok Toyeon met eyes with Do Sihoo before she sat down.
The latter was returning after saying hello to Do Wonwoo and Yoo Sanghee.
Ok Toyeon looked at Do Sihoo with wider eyes.
‘Do Sihoo said he had a death premonition when he saw her last time. How about this time?’
Ok Toyeon carefully examined his face.
While Do Sihoo stood calmly, Jang Namwook waited nervously for Ok Toyeon to speak.
“It’s still not clear, but it’s better than last time. Still, you should be careful. Do you remember what I said last time?”
“Yes, I remember.”
Jang Namwook slightly faltered.
The situation is better now, but it looks like there’s still a threat to Do Sihoo’s life.
‘Wu Zhiqi still holds a grudge.’
Jecheondaesung told Do Sihoo the story while Wu Zhiqi was asleep.
However, since Wu Zhiqi suffered for a long time, it’s impossible that she’d quickly fully understand the situation.
Still, I heard that Jecheondaesung keeps things in check.
Even though the heavy topic was his life, Do Sihoo was still laughing heartily.
“I’m glad you’re feeling better.”
Do Sihoo then headed towards Jang Namwook.
‘I think Joo Soohyuk heard the conversation.’
Joo Soohyuk only watched and seemed to have no intention of asking more.
By the time Do Sihoo couldn’t resist Jang Namwook’s nagging and put on a baseball cap, it was the end of the first inning.
The home team, TC Knights, had begun to attack.
The TC Knights have been on the rise lately as they showed good performance even today.
The team was leading until the end of the 5th inning.
‘Ok Toyeon is very excited.’
She passionately shouted the cheering slogans for the team.
Ok Toyoon checked her watch a few times as if she wanted to leave during the game, but she must’ve given up the thought since Ok Toyeon was greatly enjoying it.
‘It’s around this time when the otherworld spawned last year.’
The Black Screen didn’t attack today.
Last year and this year are so different that the Black Screen can’t easily attack now.
Many things changed — the association, the professional player teams, but the most prominent thing was the boundary.
The promise announced by the next leaders of Joo-Oh and TC on Kimopolea was kept, and the SR++ level boundary protected the stadium.
Even if the Black Screen mobilizes their subordinates, it’s quite difficult to launch an attack.
There may be some audiences who are wary that the same will happen this year, but a short interview during the break eased them.
The interviewees were players who participated in the attack that day.
[We’re joined here by the players who protected the Jamsil Baseball Stadium that day. Even though they’re young students, it’s really a pride to have them here.]
[That’s right. As you can see from the captions, the players introduced have gained remarkable achievements in just one year. While I’m amazed at the growth of these students, it’s unfortunate that they have to be sent into battle so often.]
[I feel grateful to the players again. We hope that players will be rewarded for the role they play in our society.]
The kids in our class watched the interview together and heard the good words from the commentators.
The broadcast screen showed Joo Soohyuk being interviewed.
He looked like a high school student who wanted to enjoy a baseball game over the break rather than a player who achieved great things.
“I wanted to see the interview with Euishin and Hyodon live. What a shame.”
“Why do you want to see that?”
“I wanted to see you two get praised!”
Maeng Hyodon looked awkward, but my classmates seemed to agree with Saeum of April.
Could that be the reason why everyone agreed when I suggested the baseball stadium picnic?
Although I’m thankful that it made it easier to adjust my schedule, it felt odd.
The break time ended and the game resumed.
At the end of the game, it was TC Knights’ victory.
“Let’s go! We won! Let’s go until the autumn!”
Ok Toyeon happily jumped around, while Jang Namwook applauded the athletes with a bitter look on his face.
It’s still May and the autumn season is still far though.
“Today’s game was fun! I wanna come again.”
“The TC team fought well. Do you want to watch the next game?”
Seeing the kids on the verge of becoming TC Knights fans, I felt an eerie feeling.
It’s a hell on that hole so I hope they’d stop.
Ok Toyeon alone is enough for a victim.
‘It would be better to be a Joo-Oh Dragons fan even though they’re always second place.’
There are several sayings in the baseball world, one of which is “A team that goes down, goes down.”
There are times when the TC Knights show outstanding performance, but as a poor team in general, the saying presumes that they’d eventually fall to the bottom.
‘PMH also shone for a moment before plummeting down.’
There was a time in PMH when Yeom Junyeol was in his second year and played an active role in Ong Gildong’s thief activities bringing about a brief period of peace.
The two characters had a good sense of control, and the skills that they showed were flashy.
It raised the expectations that the bleak story would change.
However, those times were only short-lived, and the two died tragically.
“Last year, I couldn’t imagine such a crowd would show up… I want to cheer on them again.”
I wanted to stop them, but Min Geurin’s words stopped me instead.
Song Daesok was supposed to give her a phrase, but since he couldn’t write anything, the phrase “Daesok couldn’t write anything” was on her shirt instead.
A foolish man who spits out harsh words, Song Daesok is unable to say things to Min Geurin.
“Let’s go now.”
“Yep!”
The kids in our class followed Professor Ham Geunhyung’s words.
The professor had the phrase “Almost 100% Attendance” on his shirt, courtesy of me.
It’s a shame that it’s not a 100% attendance rate yet, but the spring picnic was safely wrapped up.

I love the fluff! It’s nice to see MC just relaxing with friends.
I read ahead some spoilers hoping it would cool my enthusiasm as I wait- but every chapter is just so enjoyable that I still anticipate each one. It ended up just calming some burning questions and making me want to read it all more.
I want MC to have a great life. I really want him to see the tigers and his classmates love for him. If he just moved to the tigers mansion or even was adopted by them officially that would be good. I think his lack of self worth may be trauma from his shitty relatives- but I don’t know if we will ever see it.

Thanks for the update! “I wanted to see you two get praised!” SO TRUE! Euishin (and Hyodon!) deserve all the love ever. Another lovely fluffy chapter. I like seeing the kids just be kids. The sillies. Eh… I can’t really think of much else to say. I won’t push myself. Have a great day everyone!

Thanks for the chapter, Ms. Translator! ~(≧ᗜ≦)/゙゙゙゙
The game ended safely this time!
Ok Toyeon almost put our mc in a dangerous situation. (´• ω •`)?
And professor Yong Jegun is enjoying life once again. (๑>•̀๑)♪
Nice chapter as always! and looking forward to more! ^^
