- Chapter 821 - Countermeasures (4)
Everyone who made their preparations wished for the exam period to quickly pass.
The unprepared students, on the other hand, wanted to put it off for a few more days.
‘I don’t think postponing it would make any difference.’
But regardless of the level of preparation, we all shared the same thought.
We wanted the exam period to end before the cherry blossoms did.
Perhaps because many tigers are taking the test this time, the angel showed his genius and made the cherry blossoms bloom for longer.
“I finished my exam with this! Thankfully it ended before the cherry blossoms fell.”
Among the dorm students, Saeum of April finished the fastest.
I don’t think he chose his elective course strategically to shorten his exam period, but he got lucky.
‘That means he took all the tests at once. I wonder if he’s okay.’
It’s difficult to prepare for several tests at once.
However, Saeum of April looked relatively relaxed, and I guess his scores were also okay.
Saeum of April revealed his secret.
“The truth is, I participated in a study group created by the Choi Pyeondeuk Hunting Party. It’s a simple study group where we share our self-study times, but the messages sent there were quite helpful.”
Saeum of April showed a hologram.
[We won’t forget even if everyone does. We work hard to hunt the criminal Choi Pyeondeuk (10/10)]
[Choi Pyeondeuk Bully 2 (10/10)]
[CPD B 3 (10/10)
[4 (10/10)]
[5 (10/10]
…
‘They improved compared to last year.’
According to the party recruitment bulletin board, the number of people in this group increased.
I thought they would decrease since some of the students graduated by Choi Pyeondeuk have graduated.
It seems like Saeum of April also found it odd so he asked the party leader.
“I heard that it got recognition as more criminals are getting hunted. A lot of people signed up to be hunters. There are a few freshmen too.’
I thought the party would dissolve after all the students bullied by Choi Pyeondeuk had graduated, but it seems like they’ll survive.
“I only participated in the study group this time, but I’m thinking of joining their battle training and other activities! Do you wanna join, Euishin?”
Saeum of April looked for the right timing and asked me with a smile.
I wondered what kind of training they were doing to catch a criminal who had been wanted for a long time, so I thought it would be good to go with him at least once.
Saeum of April was freed up, but the other dorm students still had exams to take.
“…”
In the dormitory study room, Hani was staring at the hologram with a palish face.
She was preparing for Gong Cheonghwon’s “Otherworld Environment and Enemy Status” course.
Her troubles seemed to be so severe that Jin Jungmok hesitated to ask her for help.
“You understand it well after one explanation. You don’t take much of my time, Jungmok-ah.”
It seems like except for his slow handwriting, Jin Jungmok was an excellent student.
Jin Jungmok asked Hani some questions during her break time, careful not to take away her own study time.
And it seems like Jin Jungmok helped Hani too.
“Jungmok helped me when he saw the scope of our exam. He easily solved the complex phrases that I couldn’t understand well.”
Is she referring to the papers given by Gong Cheonghwon as a reference?
I looked at the paper and I had to take a moment to understand it too.
‘I guess studying is harder now that we’re sophomores.’
Throughout the conversation, Hani held a sugar-free lemon candy given by the school.
The school provided a lot of sugar-free snacks this time.
Perhaps it was Hwang Jiho’s gesture for his friend.
‘Hani’s performance has dropped a little since her battle with Dokgo Miro. Is she still stressed?’
It’s difficult to intervene between the two, considering their complicated past.
Even Hwang Jiho, the self-proclaimed best friend, doesn’t meddle.
I just hope one day they will solve the conflict of their past through a conversation instead of a battle.
“Hey! VP! It was easier than I thought!”
Maeng Hyodon, who just finished his math test, said with a big smile on his face.
He got 42 points.
Easier than he thought, huh?
He avoided having to retake the exam since he was over 40 points, but I was still worried about his future.
“You did great, Lena! Didn’t you have a hard time taking all those tests? There are still snacks from the Jiikhoe. If it’s okay, we can…”
“I’ll eat snacks later. Wooram-ah, sit there for a second!”
Kwon Lena arrived after her exam and made Mok Wooram sit on a couch instead of a study chair.
It was out of the blue, but Mok Wooram sat down without any questions.
When he settled down, Kwon Lena took out the violin from the case she always carried.
‘It’s a violin from the school.’
It would’ve been better if it was the energy violin made by Mok Wooram.
Unfortunately, the violin craftsman was still hesitant.
While Mok Wooram stared at the violin with hesitation-filled eyes, Kwon Lena was ready to play.
It wasn’t until she started playing that Mok Wooram came to his senses and opened his eyes wide.
‘Oh, this song…?’
I thought she would play Kwon Jein’s new song, the Hwangmyeong Theme Park song.
However, she chose a different one.
The song was ‘The Dazzling Cyan Pearl.’
It was a song written by Kwon Jein when she saw Yong Jegun, in a ready-to-ascend state, during the Eungwang High festival.
But I felt something different as I listened.
‘There are new parts from what I remember.’
The song I remembered was characterized by the gradual transition from a free and lively melody to loneliness and blur.
But Kwon Lena’s version was lively until the end.
With playful variations in the middle, it felt like a completely different song.
‘I don’t think Kwon Lena arranged it. Maybe it’s an unpublished arrangement made by Kwon Jein.’
Mok Wooram looked mesmerized as he was covered in a bright tone.
Perhaps because the song was inspired by Yong Jegun, the image of a mischievous dragon teased us.
Mok Wooram didn’t faint, but even after the song ended, he couldn’t clap and only stared at Kwon Lena.
After the performance, Kwon Lena said with a shy smile,
“It’s a rearrangement of the song that Kwon Jein sunbaenim wrote when she saw Professor Yong Jegun. It’s a new song that hasn’t been released yet!”
The first version was made upon seeing Yong Jegun ahead of his ascension.
After that version was heard by the public, some comments popped up.
— I remember Professor Yong Jegun as a free-hearted person, but I thought he would definitely land every time he flew.
— I think he’s going straight for the skies now though.
However, since Yong Jegun’s mind has completely changed, Kwon Jein’s interpretation of him also did.
And that’s how this version was born.
Kwon Jein rearranged ‘The Dazzling Cyan Pearl’ and added the phrase ‘On the Ground’ to the title.
Mok Wooram barely came back to his senses and asked.
“Thank you for the wonderful performance. But why all of a sudden?”
“I wanted to give you a present. You gave me an impromptu sheet music last time. That’s why I chose a different arrangement of this song!”
She chose it especially for Mok Wooram.
I was deeply moved by Kwon Lena’s sincerity.
Mok Wooram didn’t seem to imagine that it was for him.
“Thanks for your help during the exam. Thanks to you, I was able to prepare for the exam easily and I had time to practice the violin. As a second song, I’m going to play the Hwangmyeong Theme Park— Wooram-ah?”
Swoook…
Mok Wooram eventually couldn’t endure and collapsed on the couch.
Just listening to his muse’s performance must be overwhelming, but his mind couldn’t handle it when he realized that the performance was for him.
“I’ll play the second song next time.”
Kwon Lena’s skills improved day by day and I’m sure it would be harder for Mok Wooram to bear.
Meanwhile, I got a message from the other kids in our class.
[Kim Yuri] Euishin-ah, I checked the data for the first quarter student representative meeting that you sent me yesterday!
[Kim Yuri] I wanted to prepare in advance too… Thanks! > ▽ <
Kim Yuri always starts preparing for the student representative meeting immediately after the exams.
It always bothered me that she had to do that, so I decided to help out this time.
‘I hope she gets some rest while reviewing those.’
As a major member of the student association, Kim Yuri had a lot of work to do.
I wanted to ease it at least.
I had some time to spare, but I’m worried that I won’t be able to help next time considering the future events.
Another kid from our class sent me a message.
[Dokgo Miro] (Link)
[Dokgo Miro] Listen to this.
Dokgo Miro sent a link without explanation.
It couldn’t be a phishing link so I opened it without any doubt.
It led me to a trailer video released by the SZ Games.
‘The trailer for the open beta test for that game has been released!’
The godly game, which received great reviews in the closed beta test, is now set for open beta testing.
Even though it will be released immediately after the OBT, they still published a separate trailer.
I remember it from PMH.
‘They did a great job for the trailer in PMH too.’
But the events in that failed game were a hindrance.
If the game wasn’t promoted well, people wouldn’t know about it.
I pressed the play button as I held back my bitter heart.
‘Wait. Dokgo Miro didn’t say watch, she said listen. Don’t tell me…’
The moment I pressed the play button, I heard a familiar voice.
It was Dokgo Miro’s.

thanks for the chapter.
a fluffy intermezzo chapter.
let’s start in reverse order.
oh, Miro sang the game opening song? main theme?
what a grace for that dragon!! a song that was fully dedicated for this aggravating creature
Hyodon-ie…. 42 was “much easier” for you?? I’m speechless
Yep, I could empathize with Han Yi… whenever some lecture that has that wide of a scope was going to be tested: grit my teeth!!
… and Saeum, how many tests did you take in one day???
Black cat1
Thanks for the chapter Ms. Translator! (*ˊᗜˋ*)/ᵗᑋᵃᐢᵏ ᵞᵒᵘ*
several tests at once?! Σ(O_O)
Congratulations on passing Maeng Hyodon! d(・∀・○)
Nice chapter as always, and looking forward to more! ヽ(>∀<☆)ノ

Thanks for the update! I’m glad everyone passed safely, it seems! Well, they’re smart, hardworking children, so it’s to be expected. Wooram needs to build up his tolerance if he’s to be Lena’s number 1 fan! I want to see when Lena makes a song of her own. Maybe one day, she’ll have the muses come down for her, too! Anyways, I’m very proud of Miro, getting chosen for such an amazing game. It’s the small things. Hyodon choosing math, Miro being chosen to sing the games theme… Things that don’t seem like much, but are indicative of how much better off they are, here. Makes me happy.
