EX rank supporting role’s replay in a prestigious school - Chapter 817
After the usual greetings, Sung Gukeon entered the elevator heading to the first floor.
Kim Shinrok offered to see him off, but Sung Gukeon refused.
After Jo Euishin gave his speculation about Unsa’s whereabouts, he saw Jeokho gt visibly shaken and knew that Kim Shinrok’s condition wasn’t the best either.
‘Jo Euishin is quite trusted by the Tiger Clan. No, maybe even beyond that.’
The Tiger Clan was in such agony that they could hardly believe that Unsa was in such a position, but no one doubted Jo Euishin’s speculation.
On top of that, no one complained of discomfort to Jo Euishin, whose remark greatly defied the atmosphere.
If someone with no initial ties with the Tiger Clan came forward and said what he said, the Tigers might’ve sealed his mouth shut at first and then tried to dig for any information from him.
“I said I would take you home but… I don’t think you want to do that.”
“I’m going to the office. There’s a lot I want to check out. What do you think?”
“I think so.”
The dawn passed and the sun rose.
The two had just woken up after a long sleep, but they were fatigued mentally.
Yet neither thought to take a rest.
“Euishin wanted to know about what you went through on your last day. I’m curious too. Take a break first and then let me know once you’re okay.”
“You won’t believe me even if I tell you that I’m alright.”
“The professor was very worried about you, so it’s hard for me to believe.”
The conversation was cut off when Unsa was mentioned, so they decided to exchange information later on.
Jo Euishin asked for a detailed description of what Jeon Muyeong went through before he died.
Upon hearing the request, Sung Gukeon simply judged that Jeon Muyeong died first and that he woke up earlier than he did.
Sung Gukeon was also concerned about his secretary’s Replay.
He had no intention of pushing him to say it though.
As he gave words to try and give the other strength, Sung Gukeon said,
“It’s a little too early for breakfast. Let’s invite Siwan out for lunch and eat together.”
“…Yes, sir!”
Jeon Muyeong’s expression became a little brighter at Sung Gukeon’s suggestion.
In the Replay, Jeon Muyeong visibly had a hard time as he read Sung Siwan’s autopsy report.
He’d feel somewhat better if he saw that Sung Siwan graduated safely and became a college student.
Thinking about it made Sung Gukeon’s heart lighter too.
‘It’s not an exaggeration to say that Euishin saved Siwan. Euishin must’ve saved countless people, starting with our professor.’
In every scenario that Sung Gukeon could think about, he realized that Jo Euishin was the cause.
The practical test, Children’s Day, the youth retreat, the Christmas incident…
In all of them, there was Jo Euishin.
While thinking of the benefactor, the elevator arrived at the underground parking lot.
The moment the elevator opened, someone with colorful hair came in.
“Hello, kids.”
Under the dim light of the underground parking lot, Yong Jegun’s cyan hair shone brightly.
As the mischievous dragon referred to the lawmaker and his secretary as “kids,” even the eloquent Sung Gukeon fell speechless.
Satisfied at their reaction, Yong Jegun said,
“Want some coffee? I got you a sandwich too.”
Yong Jegun held a cup carrier which still felt warm as if it had just been packed.
He then held up a paper bag with a sandwich in his other hand.
It’s obviously for more than one person.
He was estimating when the two would come out, and sure enough, he waited for them at the right time at the parking lot.
“Haha! I am quite hungry. Would you like to come to my office? Let’s go together.”
There was something he wanted to hear from Yong Jegun, who just happened to go through Replay too.
Yong Jegun smiled at the suggestion and nodded ecstatically.

The tigers didn’t get up for a long time after Sung Gukeon left.
I was worried about Sung Gukeon and Jeon Muyeong’s bodies, but honestly, the tigers looked worse.
‘We’re assuming that they have Unsa in custody, and Unsa is being tortured. But most of all, the thought of the Black Screen using Unsa’s power must be the hardest for them.’
Jeokho, who was silently staring at the floor for a long time, asked Hwang Jiho.
“…Are Pungbaek and Usa still unconscious?”
“They are. They’ve prepared for when they fall into our hands.”
As Hwang Jiho said, Pungbaek and Usa had their eyes closed all this time.
The Black Screen seemed to have tried to keep them from waking up if they collapsed in the enemy camp.
They had an electronic device with them, but it was turned off and no one knew how to turn it on or extract information from it.
‘The Tiger Clan could kill those two if they wanted. I can’t believe the Black Screen just abandoned them like that.’
Though of course, Hwang Jiho wouldn’t kill those two because Unsa’s location is at stake.
The tigers gradually escaped the shock and talked to each other.
Baekho-gun only listened calmly, but his demeanor seemed to ease the other tigers.
Indeed, sadness and pain are easier to carry when shared.
The conversation was still about Pungbaek and Usa, but the tigers gradually began to talk about the future instead of the past.
“It was Pungbaek and Usa who killed Sung Gukeon in the Replay, but those two are in our hands now. Doesn’t that mean that the assassination is unlikely to happen?”
Jeokho’s words were rational, and they made Kim Shinrok visibly relieved, which was perhaps his intention.
But I thought differently.
“The Black Screen would’ve found a replacement for those two.”
“Pungbaek and Usa look young, but their power isn’t to be underestimated. It would be difficult to find a replacement easily…”
Jeokho was right.
Those two appeared in the Myth of Gaecheon, and it’s not easy to replace them.
But I have reason to believe otherwise.
Hwang Jiho knows of the clue too.
“Nabiryeong said something at the Dragon Palace.”
I heard with Hwang Jiho and Hwangryong what she said.
— [He brought the demons to their knees under the pretext of a contract. Thanks to that, the demons who went to the Demon World came back.]
After recalling her words, I relayed my thoughts to the tigers.
“Unlike in the Replay, the Demon Race failed to fulfill their contract. As a result, the Black Screen has this hold on them, especially on the Demon World. Perhaps that’s where they can find a replacement.”
The ones that he brought from the Demon World are strong enough to assassinate Sung Gukeon.
And I remembered what happened at the TC Research Institute.
Humans were able to use Wu Zhiqi’s power, so perhaps Unsa’s power could be used by people other than Pungbaek and Usa.
Although the Black Screen can’t use earth power now, the assassination was still highly likely to take place.
“In the Replay, Pungbaek and Usa wasted their energy in attacking Sung Gukeon sunbaenim psychologically. If the initial attacks hadn’t been done, perhaps the attack would be more powerful.”
The Black Screen still has the power to kill Sung Gukeon and Jeon Muyeong without leaving a trace.
Even in PMH, those two were thought to be missing at first.
Some claimed that Sung Gukeon ran away because of the political attacks and the stress of Sung Siwan’s death.
Sung Gukeon’s supporters didn’t believe this.
The tapes that showed Sung Gukeon leaving Eungwang High seemed unusual, and opinions were divided over whether it was intentional or not.
‘The first one to find a clue was the King of Back Alleys.’
Dokgo Miro, who had a strong faith in Sung Gukeon, tried to track him down.
She found an old smartphone, installed in a nearby poor establishment, which they use as a CCTV.
There she found Sung Gukeon and Jeon Muyeong go out of their car but ended up being swallowed by something.
Dokgo Miro anonymously provided the footage to Sung Gukeon’s supporters and to domestic and international media outlets.
Some claimed it was manipulated, but it was found to be real.
However, as many incidents occurred in between, Sung Gukeon’s disappearance didn’t gain much attention.
‘People said they’d investigate, but it remained unsolved until the end.’
The kidnapping of a lawmaker is a big deal, but compared to the other things happening in Korea, it was forgettable.
With the atmosphere getting heavy, I received a message on my device.
I should’ve turned off my notifications.
It was from Yong Jegun
[Yong Jegun] (Photo)
[Yong Jegun] ^^
The photo showed a sandwich and a cup of coffee for takeaway on top of a table.
It was three servings.
‘He’s in Sung Gukeon’s office. I guess he waited all along.’
A wall full of post-its written by his visitors was seen in the photo.
There were phrases like “Sung Gukeon, fighting!” among others.
Anyone would know that it’s the lawmaker’s office.
“That damned dragon…”
It looks like Yong Jegun sent the same message to Kim Shinrok.
He’s so good at teasing Kim Shinrok at unexpected times.
“…Yong Jegun is taking care of your students. Let’s get up now. This body will prepare breakfast.”
As if he felt a sense of competition with Yong Jegun, Hwang Jiho offered to make us breakfast.
I wanted to go back to my dorm, but I decided to share a meal with the tigers, thinking that it would be better to talk as we ate.
When I got up from my seat, Hwang Jiho looked at me and said,
“Looking at your face, it seems like you have a plan.”
My playable character is in danger.
There’s no way I don’t have one.

In the days coming up to Sung Gukeon and Jeon Muyeong’s assassination, I encountered another great crisis.
As soon as Saeum of April saw me, he greeted me with an urgent look.
“Euishin-ah, you’re here! I had to fight a hard fight while you were away.”
Saeum of April guided me to Jiikhoe Hall’s study room.
As soon as I entered, I saw a soulless Kwon Lena while Mok Wooram did his best to explain something to her.
In another corner of the study room seemed to be an abandoned stone.
Looking closely, it was Maeng Hyodon who fell apart in his battle with mathematics.
The midterm examinations were about to begin.

thanks for the chapter.
Been a while since I’m the first to leave a comment… yay
okay, moving on.
Off all conjectures regarding the brats replacement, why didn’t he mention the waking bears?? Euishin didn’t forget about this intel, did he?
Glad that today’s YongJe wasn’t such an irritating existence, unlike the usual.
Hmm… so, the midterm period has not passed?? I forgot due to the commotion on the April fools

Thank you for the chapter, Ms. Translator! (´。• ◡ •。`) ♡
Has our main character’s strategy level increased? How is he able to come up with plans so quickly??✧
Our friends won’t have an easy time passing this midterm examination. ヾ(*ゝω・*)ノ
As always, a great chapter! Can’t wait for more chapters about the midterm exams! ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧.

Thanks for the update! There’s the realization I wanted! Gukeon isn’t as affectionate as the others, though. Oh well. Anyways, the more Euishin changes the timeline, the less useful PMH’s information is. But, that’s what I admire about him. Disregarding the safety in knowing the future to give this world its best shot. Anyways+1, it seems for a tiny bit we won’t be worrying about the fate of the world, but the fate of their grades. Fighting, you guys! I’ll leave it here.
