EX rank supporting role’s replay in a prestigious school - Chapter 813
The season changed along with the new school year.
Sung Gukeon was distressed by thoughts of Sung Siwan whenever he visited Eungwang High, angered at the complacent operations of the school.
Still, he never turned his back.
Meanwhile, an unexpected report came across his desk.
“Joo Soohyuk is in Class Zero?”
“Yes. The professors decided to put him there, and Joo Soohyuk agreed.”
“Agreed, huh? They’ve created a situation where he had to agree.”
Sung Gukeon was from Class Zero and was never embarrassed about it.
He didn’t think badly of Class Zero, but he didn’t want to see his junior enter that class this way.
Joo Soohyuk’s face attached to the report was gloomy, much different from his appearance last year.
He seemed to keep a smile on his face in case he was photographed, but it wasn’t enough to deceive Sung Gukeon’s eyes.
‘No matter how mature and excellent a player he is, he’s still a student. It hasn’t even been long since he attended a friend’s funeral, and now…”
Sung Gukeon knew what Joo Soohyuk went through last Christmas.
Joo Soohyuk was played by the Demon Race and had to take down his own classmate who was possessed by them.
The demons who messed with Joo Soohyuk escaped leisurely before help arrived, while the teachers who had been away tried to put the blame on Joo Soohyuk.
If the association and the Joo-Oh Group hadn’t protected him, it would’ve been difficult for Joo Soohyuk to stay in Eungwang High.
‘He might’ve been expelled or turned into a villain if the Joo-Oh Group didn’t have his back. It’s a relief that the consequence was him going to Class Zero.’
The current teachers were in poor condition.
There were many of them still worthy of being called professors, but the workload left by the teachers who passed away and the trouble being caused by the corrupt teachers were weighing them down.
Taking advantage of the fact that the good teachers were busy resolving these cases, Choi Pyeondeuk and his followers became influential.
Considering Eungwang High’s condition, it’s a relief that Joo Soohyuk remained there.
“I have an additional report.”
“What is it?”
“It’s about Joo Soohyuk and Ahn Dain. The two have been to the Dragon Palace during the vacation.”
The two students that Sung Gukeon was watching went to the Dragon Palace.
Sung Gukeon couldn’t believe it.
He regarded the Dragon Clan as better than the other royal lineages, but he still didn’t like that the two are getting caught up with them.
It’s not easy for non-dragons and people that they don’t regard as family to enter the Dragon Palace.
The two seemed to have no connection at all to the royal lineage, so it’s odd that it suddenly appears that they have a deep relationship with the Dragon Clan.
“The two students must’ve been close with Professor Yong Jegun. I heard that they ran into Hwangryong at the funeral. They must’ve received the invitation then.”
“Hwangryong did? Not Cheongryong? That royal lineage doesn’t come up here often. It’s a surprise that he invited people over. What could be the reason?”
“I heard that it was the time to select a new shaman for the Dragon King. There was no new shaman selected this year though, due to circumstances.”
Jeon Muyeong gradually trailed off his words.
He had limited information on the closed-off Dragon Clan too.
The Dragon Palace was deep under the sea, making it impossible to investigate further.
To put it bluntly, it was an amazing feat that Jeon Muyeong was able to get this much information.
Sung Gukeon kept thinking about the strangeness of the situation.
‘How odd.’
Hwangryong must’ve felt affection for the students of Yong Jegun, a dragon that he treated as his younger brother.
That’s as much as Sung Gukeon could guess.
But it didn’t make sense that they earned an invitation to the Dragon Palace considering that they had no prior connection.
In fact, even the other dragons couldn’t understand it.
‘Why did Hwangryong invite those two?’
Only Hwangryong knew the answer.
When Hwangryong left the shamans at the palace who tried to dissuade him, he said firmly that the Dragon Palace had to be protected firmly at times like this.
When Hwangryong reached the land, he felt a strong sense of incompatibility.
For the first time in a while, he breathed in fresh air and was away from Imoogi’s influence.
He had meals that didn’t have Imoogi’s scales in them.
However, Hwangryong only thought his senses were ruined because of the grief from losing Yong Jegun.
The peak of this sense of incompatibility was when Hwangryong saw two students standing side by side at Yong Jegun’s funeral.
— Are you students of Yong Jegun?
Hwangryong approached and talked to the two without him knowing.
He felt like his senses became clearer.
Because of Ahn Dain’s Unique Constitution, his body encroached with Imoogi’s scales was temporarily purified.
Hwangryong instinctively felt that he should invite them to the palace.
And so he invited the two without knowing why and succeeded in persuading the flustered Cheongryong.
— The Dragon King didn’t summon them. Why did you invite those two?
— Cheongryong, those two are Jegun’s students. I want to have them at the Dragon Palace to hear stories about Jegun.
— Hwangryong… I’m sorry that you have to handle everything with the succession ceremony. I have to take care of things up here. Treat your guests well.
Considering that Hwangryong protects the Dragon Palace with the shamans, Cheongryong couldn’t argue further.
Thanks to Joo Soohyuk and Ahn Dain’s visit to the palace, Hwangryong recognized Imoogi’s existence.
It was Hwangryong’s last chance, but the Black Screen and the shamans had a solid plan.
Even though Hwangryong noticed the irregularities, he couldn’t think that the shamans would betray him and the Dragon King.
The Black Screen made the shamans separate Ahn Dain and Hwangryong, and they gave the latter more scales.
As a result, Yoohwang and the shamans succeeded in pushing out the candidates.
Yoon Yeorang, the most promising candidate, was assassinated and painted as a liar.
Imoogi was successfully placed in the Dragon Palace, and its scales permeated the entire Dragon Palace and swallowed Hwangryong.
— I couldn’t find out anything in the end. There were accidents that I didn’t… I am uneasy, but I believe that the Dragon King is still on our side. It will be alright.
Hwangryong murmured in a cloudy voice as he looked at the traces of the fallen palace over his blindfold.
Hwangryong missed his last chance, and the Dragon Palace collapsed.
What’s worse is that the Dragon Clan didn’t know of it.
Under these circumstances, no matter how sharp Sung Gukeon was, it was impossible to see through the Dragon Clan’s situation.
“Is there anything else?”
“There are a few more. I noticed something when I checked Joo Soohyuk’s activities.”
Joo Soohyuk frequently visited hospitals and funeral homes after his visit to the Dragon Palace.
The reason was that his relatives suddenly fell sick or passed away, so he had to spend a lot of time visiting them.
“All of them are from Joo-Oh. Are they from the Oh Family?”
“Yes. Some of them have different surnames, but all of them were originally from the Oh Family.”
The misfortune that plagued the Oh’s spread out in the dark, but its pace suddenly became too fast.
Joo-Oh Group executives suddenly died one after another, causing chaos within the organization.
There was a lot of speculation about the case, including genetic failures, curses from the royal lineage, or assassination.
However, they failed to identify the cause.
The Joo-Oh Group tried to seek help from shaman players but to no avail.
‘The oldest, Oh Hyejung, disappeared, while the young Oh Hyeji died during Christmas. The other incidents are mysterious.’
Among the Oh Family, only one child, a middle school student, didn’t suffer from sickness.
The Oh’s dying one after another before the inheritance process was even carried out overturned their family.
Among the Joo-Oh Group, Joo Soogyeom was the closest to the Oh Family and thus had a lot of work to do.
He was said to be protecting the last remaining Oh.
‘It’s a relief that Joo Soogyeom is protecting the child. But I don’t think he can protect him from the Oh Family Misfortune…’
Their misfortune was caused by the contract that they had with the Dragon Clan.
The Oh’s managed to survive thanks to Hwangryong protecting the Crystal Palace, but things changed after his collapse.
“Lastly, I have something to tell you about Joo Soohyuk entering Class Zero.”
“Something more is going on with the juniors.”
Jeon Muyeong handed over the list of students in Class 2-0.
Ham Geunhyung’s name was written as the homeroom teacher, but the spot for the assistant homeroom teacher was empty.
Class 2-0 had less than ten students, and they must’ve deemed it unnecessary to assign an assistant homeroom teacher.
While checking the list, Sung Gukeon found an unfamiliar name.
“Hwang Jiho? I didn’t see that name last year.”
“He transferred to Eungwang High this year. He’s related to the Hwangmyeong group. Upon checking his family register, he’s related to Hwang Myeongho. Perhaps…”
“It’s possible that they’re from the Tiger Clan. They registered as humans.”
“I think you’re right, sir.”
Sung Gukeon laughed out loud when he saw Hwang Jiho’s photo.
He looked very similar to Hwang Myeongho.
Sung GUkeon was convinced that the student Hwang Jiho was from the Tiger Clan.
“He’s still lounging around when the school is in this much trouble. He pays no mind to what’s going on and pretends to be a student. As expected of a royal lineage.”
“Isn’t it possible that he wants to investigate while pretending to be a student?”
“Students have a lot of restrictions. If he’s sincere about wanting to investigate, he would’ve pretended to be a teacher.”
Sung Gukeon kept a close eye on Hwang Jiho, and he seemed to hang out with Joo Soohyuk a lot.
From his actions, he seems to be there to observe Joo Soohyuk.
‘The Tiger Clan is interested in Joo Soohyuk. They’ll look into Ahn Dain too, since Joo Soohyuk’s interested in her. I should stop approaching those two.’
There’s a risk that the secret association will be leaked to the Tiger Clan.
Sung Gukeon gave up contact with the two and decided to find a different solution.
He continued a lonely fight, not opening his hand to anyone.
Sung Gukeon sometimes felt like the ground around him was collapsing.
Even in that situation, Sung GUkeon persisted until the end.
It was in May when the political maneuvers meant to sabotage Sung Gukeon strangely turned quiet.

…. thanks for the chapter.
I had the thought that this chapter would be the last chapter of mr.Gukeon’s replay, but I couldn’t be more wrong, huh…
As for the Joo-Oh’s falldown in the original scenario… I have to agree that this has something to do with Oh family bloodline that was mixed in the Joo’s lineage, as a result of “inbreeding” -sketchy sounding as it might be for generations.
as for last words. I can’t wait until Jiho’s turn to experience replay. He should have a taste of his own medicine, after all

Thanks you for the chapter ms, Translator! ( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ )
It is always impressive how they are this successful, the villain.
I’m hoping that Hwang Jiho won’t have to be included in this nightmare replay later. (◞ ‸ ◟ㆀ)
Nice chapter as always, and looking forward for more! (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)

Thanks for the update! Most of this we already know.. Aside from the Oh family’s fate, and i don’t remember if Soohyuk and Dain being at the palace was mentioned, before. That middle school child seems important. I suppose they’ll have a place when they deal with all that. The Oh’s family misfortune is because of them not honoring the contract, right? Is this child somehow honoring it? Maybe they were kept alive because if the lineage is gone for good, theres no one at all to fulfill the contract. I don’t remember the details about all that very well… Anyways, Jiho… he’s fucked up a lot, or more, not done anything to stop fucked up things, but he’s become dear to me. Replay is gonna be rough on him. I think BE Jiho (Before Euishin) was probs suuper depressed. He acted all light-hearted and coy but I don’t think he was doing well at all. Tad bit dead inside. I’m glad he’s regained his purpose, his life, and most of his loved ones, as well as some new ones. But unfortunately, his inactivity did have dire consequences for good people… So I must endure the Jiho Slander. Stay strong.

No wonder everyone who experienced No-Euishin storyline reacted that way with Jiho. He just ran away from his responsibilities and he drowned in sorrows of missing Eunho. That is indeed his fault. As an adult, shouldn’t he handle the situation a bit better? Everything went downhill after Teacher Kim Shinrok died. Jeokho cut ties with him, Baekho rarely visits him, his longing for Blue tiger, Son of God, and Eunho deepened. And from Euishin’s deduction, he searched for the perpetrator who killed Shinrok too. Well, we’ll have to wait and see for Jiho’s replay to learn his side of story.
