EX rank supporting role’s replay in a prestigious school - Chapter 812
Top floor of the Hwangmyeong Tower.
The night sky was visible as the sun went down, and Sung Gukeon and Jeon Muyeong were still asleep.
I’ve seen the tigers go through Replay before, and compared to them, these two men looked quite peaceful.
Kim Shinrok though didn’t look the same.
“Those two’s energy waves are normal, Kim Shinrok. You and Jeokho were safe after you went through the same thing. Don’t worry too much.”
“Son, the children you’ve taught won’t fall apart easily against a dream like this. Come here and have some persimmon.”
“But…”
Kim Shinrok glanced at the finely cut persimmon but seemed to have no plan on sitting down.
Perhaps he won’t be able to swallow any food knowing that his students are wandering in a nightmare.
Baekho-gun, who had been watching silently, lifted up one of the solo chairs.
It must’ve been heavy, but he lifted it smoothly like an empty box.
He put it right behind Kim Shinrok.
“Sit down.”
Kim Shinrok faltered and sat down.
Perhaps because he’s his teacher, Baekho-gun seems to be the best at handling Kim Shinrok among the tigers.
Jeokho and Hwang Jiho moved some furniture around Kim Shinrok too, and I sat on a newly placed sofa.
I couldn’t see it earlier, but now that I’m closer to him, Jeon Muyeong’s expression seems to be crumbling a little.
‘But Sung Gukeon looks no different than when he fell asleep.’
Even while he’s asleep, Sung Gukeon constantly hides what he feels.
Anyway, I can’t tell how far they’ve come just from their facial expressions.
Considering the time when Jeokho went through it, I could only guess that a year had passed and Christmas was coming.
‘Jiikhoe gets annihilated on Christmas. The organization that Sung Gukeon built disappears, and his close cousin…’
I remembered how Sung Siwan laughed as he bragged about having a cool cousin like Sung Gukeon.
Sung Gukeon’s calm smile also came to mind.
It would be nice if the Replay function had the option to skip unnecessary content, but nothing of that nature was added despite its level rising.
“Student Sung Gukeon never showed how hard things are for him. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do on his own.”
Kim Shinrok muttered to himself as he looked at Sung Gukeon’s face with a complicated expression.
Then, the tigers looked at Kim Shinrok with a satisfied smile.
The professor looked embarrassed as he belatedly felt their gazes.
“…What’s the matter?”
If it was Kim Shinrok back then, he wouldn’t dare to ask out loud.
He really changed a lot after the energy wave link incident.
The tigers were most pleased by this change.
“I don’t have to point it out, but do you realize what you call Sung Gukeon?”
“What? It’s…”
Kim Shinrok then seemed to realize what was wrong.
He’s been calling Sung Gukeon a “student” for quite some time, but I guess he wasn’t aware of it.
“It’s been a long time since Sung Gukeon graduated, but you call him “student” with no fail.”
“It used to be ‘Sung Gukeon-gun’ but you started calling him ‘student’ when you got in contact again.”
“That’s, ah…”
Even though he graduated a long time ago and became a brilliant adult, Kim Shinrok still sees him as his precious student.
Kim Shinrok was flustered but began to worry more about his two students.
I guess this is exactly why his students follow Kim Shinrok so well.
‘Any student will be safe as long as a caring teacher like him is with them.’
I’d like to think so, but I was actually worried too.
Unlike Jeon Muyeong, whose expression was different from the beginning, Sung Gukeon wandered into the nightmare with a calm face.
I felt uncomfortable thinking that Sung Gukeon was still swallowing his emotions.
* * *
Christmas.
Eungwang High’s boundary was normalized after midnight and on Christmas Day.
Less than twenty-four hours passed outside, but the students experienced at least a few days.
Many of the students who were forced to fight amid the debuff were killed or seriously injured.
Most of the students who survived were either lucky or had seniors sacrifice themselves for them.
“Gukeon hyung, Siwan is…”
Jeon Muyeong spoke with a stunned look on his face as he checked his device.
He’s never called Sung Gukeon “hyung” ever since he became a Congressman, but now…
After hearing about the incident in Eungwang High and hearing about Sung Siwan’s death, Sung Gukeon silently accepted it.
Sung Siwan might’ve survived if he wanted to, but he was a person who would put his safety behind him when such an accident broke out.
“Let’s go to the scene.”
Sung Gukeon tapped Jeon Muyeong’s back louder than usual.
Holding back his tears by pressing his eyes with his fingers, Jeon Muyeong looked up.
“It’s not a normal situation. Maybe this is the invasion that begins in Eungwang High. Whoever it is, they must be erasing evidence to hide the complicated truth, and I’ll have to find the clues with my own eyes before they disappear any further.”
Sung Gukeon said as he suppressed the sadness and anger in his heart.
Jeon Muyeong couldn’t struggle since Sung Gukeon was still acting objectively, which must be more painful than ever for him.
The more Sung Gukeon spoke, Jeon Muyeong gradually regained stability.
“The government, association, and the school will try to cover up the bereaved families and pressure them to avoid scandal. We should help them speak up before that happens.”
As the unrest subsided, Sung Gukeon prepared to go out.
He’d just finished dealing with several otherworlds in Seoul, but he still seemed full of energy.
His trustworthy attitude gave Jeon Muyeong strength.
‘It’s never too late to show our condolences after we’ve done our job. Siwan and the other kids would wait, won’t they?”
“Yes, sir.”
By the time they headed to Eungwang High, the two had regained their normal minds.
As they arrived at the school, a flashlight met Sung Gukeon when he got out of his sedan.
It was to film Sung Gukeon being agitated and lamenting over his fallen cousin.
However, Sung Gukeon only expressed his condolences in silence and didn’t show any sign of anxiety.
The government and the association stamped the case as ‘a simple otherworld spawning and the Demon Race’s intervention’
“I don’t think it’s just the enemies that spawned inside EUngwang High. Some students testified about the Demon Race’s involvement, but it doesn’t seem like that’s what killed Siwan.”
“Did the Black Forest check it out?”
“Yes. There’s no sign of demons in the residential area.”
“It seems like the students who witnessed other royal lineages were killed.”
A lot of uncertainty was on the Christmas incident.
First of all, Sung Siwan didn’t seem to be killed by an enemy.
From the result of his autopsy, it was found that Sung Siwan didn’t accumulate physical exhaustion or energy wave depletion.
Although he stepped forward to protect others, he didn’t seem to have the chance to struggle much.
He collapsed in the face of an overwhelming force.
‘Considering the rarity of the enemies that spawned, it couldn’t have been them. It has to be a top-notched player or a really strong royal lineage for them to subdue Siwan so easily.’
Things could’ve been different if strong teachers were there to help out.
However, most professors were away and the managerial teachers were on a business trip abroad.
The royal lineage Chairman, the hidden power of Eungwang High, was absent too.
The fact that the majority of professors were away on such a day raised suspicions.
‘Is it a coincidence? Is it possible that it’s the Tiger Clan’s plan?’
It would be preposterous if Chairman Hwang Myeongho was behind this.
Doubts grew, but there was something on Sung Gukeon’s mind.
‘Chairman Hwang Myeongho is negligent, but he’s arrogant and conscious. If he wanted to kill someone, he would’ve chosen the means that wouldn’t dirty his own people.’
Something else prevented Sung Gukeon from fully doubting the Tiger Clan.
The attitude of the Dragon Clan after Yong Jegun’s death.
Cheongryong and Yeom Bangyeol came forward and strongly urged investigation, saying that Yong Jegun couldn’t have been beaten by a few enemies and demons.
But they never pointed fingers at the Tiger Clan.
‘Strange. It’s possible that they’re quarreling below the surface, but strangely, the Dragon Clan trusts the Tiger Clan.’
It was Jeokho’s death that made the Dragon Clan not doubt the Tiger Clan.
Cheongryong firmly believed that Hwangho wouldn’t abandon Jeokho, and so did the dragons who knew Hwangho.
And other members of the Tiger Clan died during the incident too.
Some tigers who worked as employees of the Hwangmyeong Foundation who were left on campus that day all died.
The Tiger Clan’s chief sorcerer, Jukho, also died, but that wasn’t known to the outside world.
‘The testimonies from the students who witnessed Yong Jegun die are also concerning.’
Some of the students guarded Yong Jegun’s body until the end.
They testified that Yong Jegun saved their lives.
“I’m good at sensing energy waves, and Yong Jegun almost had none right from the start. He might’ve been attacked by someone even before Christmas Eve.”
“That’s right. The media is saying that the situation got bigger because the Cintamani saved up his strength, but that’s nonsense!”
The Dragon Clan, who heard of this, corrected that it wasn’t the case.
Yong Jegun is said to have consumed a lot of energy waves for some reason, but the Dragon Clan didn’t disclose it.
With several suspicions remaining, a situation has developed in which humans are more wary of royal lineage.
‘If people were to choose who to trust between the dragons and those humans, they would choose the latter.’
Even with the students killed, many people vied for their self-interest.
Some people wanted the case to be forgotten and buried quickly.
In their eyes, those who grieved and wanted the truth were an inconvenience.
A teacher close to Choi Pyeondeuk accused Sung Gukeon of making disparaging remarks about the bereaved families.
That teacher was ridiculed for criticizing Sung Gukeon’s speech as they supported that the Congressman had the right to speak since his cousin died in the incident.
They believed that Sung Gukeon would’ve done the same even if his own family wasn’t involved in the case.
His actions during the Children’s Day and the youth retreat incidents gave Sung Gukeon credibility.
And amidst all the confusion, spring has arrived.

thanks for the chapter…
the gloomy season was still going strong, huh… I wonder for how long did the black screen has stewed his catastrophic plans.
I mean, it’s pretty weird that there were no opposition from the “good” people/ “league of justice” before everything become… unrepairable, except from the Sungs and some royal lineages??
why there were none else who feels that the world is heading to chaos in those years??
why there were none else who feels the oddity of the surrounding happenings??
I mean, look at us… when there’s a president candidate who’s not so popular with public get much higher vote count on election, we will immediately thought that something is fishy.
now here, how? why? and they lived in a modern world, not some medieval world to boot

Thanks for the chapter, Ms. Translator! (,,>ヮ∇<)ゞ

Thanks for the chapter, Ms. Translator!
The villain in this story is clever, targeting not only the main character but also the non-playable characters and extras.
its strange to not have people from other countries analyze the situation and for the hackers to recognize the hidden danger. ( •̀ – •́ )
Despite attempts to block the truth, it should raise doubts among super-powered individuals and the royal lineage and have some awarance! ٩(๑`^´๑)۶
( On a side note, even if they are aware, they may not be able to take much action since they prioritize themselves and lack a leader to guide them. )
Another great chapter, as always, and I’m eagerly looking forward to more! ヾ(>∇<)ゞ

Thanks for the update! Gukeon really is, very mentally strong. With the vulture-like press just waiting for him to make the slightest mistake, he must keep composure at all times, even when his family dies. Anyways.. the mere thought of the tiger clan being the mastermind feels so wrong!! Of course, Gukeon doesn’t like royal lineage, and didn’t know better, but… And Jiho’s negligence certainly didn’t help. I know the royal lineage have their flaws, but I wish Gukeon knew how hard Jegun was trying to bring Shinrok back… and the tiger clan’s innocence! I can’t wait for them to wake up. I wonder how many more chapters that’ll be?
