EX rank supporting role’s replay in a prestigious school - Chapter 802
The news of Bang Yoonseob’s extended role as Bbang Shuttle has spread widely.
I wasn’t the one behind it though.
It’s just that many eyes and ears have witnessed Bang Yoonseob curse and scream at me.
Among those who heard the rumor, Mok Wooram was the happiest.
“I’m glad I can keep this sideline job this year.”
Mok Wooram wants to be a smoke detector this year again, and he said,
“His skills suddenly increased at the end of last year so he was quite difficult to deal with, but now I think I can manage.”
I know what caused the change in Bang Yoonseob’s skills.
The priest of Invidius expanded Bang Yoonseob’s skills by encroaching on his vitality.
The Demon Race saw Bang Yoonseob as an expendable tool for the Christmas Scenario so they didn’t care about the aftereffects of it.
Or that it would diminish his life span.
Thankfully, Bang Yoonseob was stopped before he could use a lot of force during Christmas, and the head of the Snake Clan took care of him so there wasn’t any big problem.
Right now, Bang Yoonseob is weaker than when the Demon Race messed with him, but he’s become so much healthier and his growth potential is obvious.
“I don’t think I can help around this time. Sorry.”
Joo Soohyuk apologized, but he had no reason to be sorry.
He said he was busy with training, but I know there’s a different reason behind it.
‘The head of the Snake Clan must’ve said something to Joo Soohyuk.’
I’ve been in touch with the head of the Snake Clan several times since Christmas.
The clan head, who expressed thanks for delivering the scales to Bang Yoonseob safely, seemed to have her attention on Joo Soohyuk.
To borrow her words, it was necessary to keep him away since he’s “The one that Bang Yoonseob holds stupid complex feelings against.”
The reason why Bang Yoonseob’s mind is yet to be completely stable…
I couldn’t imagine how upset Joo Soohyuk must’ve been when he heard that.
But even if I knew that, I didn’t intervene.
‘Joo Soohyuk will go through this many times more. He’ll have to get used to it.’
Objectively, Joo Soohyuk is well off.
Personality, abilities, appearance, background, etc., he’s not lacking in anything.
It’s a given that people would develop a strong sense of inferiority for the perfect title hero.
People other than Bang Yoonseob will develop those feelings, even if Joo Soohyuk is a humble guy.
Since I can’t ask Joo Soohyuk to throw those away, he has to overcome it mentally.
‘Joo Soohyuk wishes Bang Yoonseob well since he thinks of him as a friend, but…’
What people feel about Joo Soohyuk is out of my control, but I want him and Bang Yoonsoeb to at least get along well.
But then…
Bang Yoonseob’s inferiority complex is out of my control, so I have no choice but to wait for him to grow.
Once that happens, I can try various interventions for them to get close.
[Maeng Hyodon] Oh, I almost forgot.
[Maeng Hyodon] (Photo)
[Maeng Hyodon] I got a pic of him smoking before.
Upon hearing about Bbang Shuttle’s extended term, Maeng Hyodon sent me two pictures.
The first one showed a nervous Bang Yoonseob, a stick of cigarette in his mouth.
The second photo showed Tak Geosan kicking the cigarette with his foot.
I guess the pathetic guy wanted help from nicotine before coming back to Tak Geoson.
Meanwhile, a different nicotine addict sent me a message.
[Joo Soogyeom] I’m looking into the contract.
Unlike Bang Yoonseob, this addict is competent and fast with his work.
Joo Soogyeom is Joo-Oh Group’s executive and a member of their royal family, so he understands the urgency of knowing the Oh Family’s predicament quickly.
Before I could ask for details, Joo Soogyeom sent more messages.
[Joo Soogyeom] Five people were injured in the process.
[Joo Soogyeom] I’m sending you the encrypted file. The password is the date and time of our previous appointment.
Why were there people injured?
Instead of explaining, Joo Soogyeom sent me the attachment.
I entered the password and opened the file.
The content of the report was as follows;
According to Joo Soogyeom’s investigation, none of the surviving members of the Oh Family were aware of such a contract.
It’s possible that the previous generation hadn’t communicated it with them since they died of sudden deaths, but Joo Soogyeom thought differently.
It was strange that they didn’t convey the details of the contract that they had with the sea dragons through a written will.
‘It’s strange that they didn’t tell their descendants about a life-threatening contract. Other than their lives, their wealth and honor are at stake too. They’re completely to be blamed for breaking a promise with the Dragon Clan.’
Joo Soogyeom checked the will left by a predecessor from the Oh Family and how it was executed.
It was difficult to find traces because a considerable amount of time had already passed, but Joo Soogyeom and his secretaries came forward and confirmed its contents.
They examined the traces of energy waves left in the printed copy of the will, and they said the flow of it was cut out in the middle.
The counsel who executed the will was now dead, and his son succeeded the law firm that he left behind.
When Joo Soogyeom’s secretaries made an appointment to visit the law firm, that’s when the attack happened.
‘How can a huge law firm office being smashed to pieces not make it into the news? Did Joo Soogyeom block it?
The employees in the office were safe since they hid, knowing they had no powers to resist.
However, the guards of the law firm and Joo Soogyeom’s secretaries were injured.
As a result of the attack, a safe in the office was crumpled like a sheet of paper, and most of the recording devices in the area were destroyed.
Looking at the damage report, an incident this big is bound to be reported on the news.
As I expected, Joo Soogyeom must’ve prevented that from happening.
[Joo Soogyeom] I’ve blocked off any news at the moment, but articles about it will probably be published within the day.
The police seemed to think of the incident as some sort of retaliation.
Lawyers aren’t strangers to grudges, be it from failed trials or the like.
Judging that this grudge may have instigated someone to hire a player mercenary to attack the law firm’s office, the prosecution began to investigate.
But again, Joo Soogyeom had a different idea.
[Joo Soogyeom] The timing was too good. It could be someone maneuvering to keep the contract under the cover.
I thought so too.
I heard the content of the contract from the dragons, and no one else seemed to know it.
The motive behind this attack had to be to hide the truth behind this contract.
The only thing that matters is who stopped the Ohs from relaying the contract to future generations.
[Joo Soogyeom] Its omission from the will itself seems to prove that the contract existed. I want to investigate further.
[Joo Soogyeom] In the meantime, I want you to proceed with the arbitration regarding the cancellation of the contract.
The Oh Family seems to be caught up in something more dangerous than I thought.
Someone behind the scenes is hoping for their short life and for the dragons’ anguish.
And it goes without saying that it is the Black Screen.
The question is, who is working with them?
‘I guess someone powerful enough to be involved in the will execution of Joo-Oh Group executives.’
This can’t be done without considerable financial backing and connections.
That means the other conglomerate groups are to be suspected.
It can’t be the Hwangmyeong Group, so it’s either TC or Namgung.
Joo Soogyeom probably suspects the same.
‘Will this be the spark of the Four Major Groups Conflict scenario?’
There’s still quite a bit of time before that, and there are more ominous signs showing themselves.
Perhaps that’s how deep the conflict between those groups is.
* * *
The promotional period for clubs and small groups went smoothly, and so the freshmen students were able to join their groups of interest.
Eun Seoho didn’t join a club, saying that he wanted to focus on his responsibilities as the class president.
Meanwhile, Eun Iho joined the student council.
Eun Iho was interested in the workings of the school, and it seems like she wants to get closer to Ahn Dain.
‘Yoon Yeorang explored a lot of the clubs, but she didn’t join one in the end since she might be busy with her work as a shaman.’
Some freshmen made unexpected choices.
Cha Seokwon joined the Jiikhoe.
He had an explosion in his room on the first day of classes, getting the attention of Jiikhoe.
Perhaps that’s when he got the idea to join.
I worried a little about him joining Gye Bastard’s Jiikhoe, but I don’t think it would be too bad since my other playable characters, like Park Seunghyun, are also part of the organization.
‘It would’ve been better if Park Seunghyun or some other third-year student were the chairman of Jiikhoe.’
Kim Shinrok is busy these days because of the accidents caused by Class 1-0 in the dorms.
Our class behaved well last year, and no matter what came up, Sung Siwan was able to take care of it quickly, which meant less work for Kim Shinrok.
This year’s Jiikhoe chairman is incompetent compared to last year, and the difference felt increasingly unpleasant on my skin.
“Euishin hyung, I’ll help you if you want to do anything. I chose the club where I can help you the most.”
Unlike anyone else, Eunho said something admirable.
Eunho joined the student council and the newspaper department.
Double membership required permission from the General Club and the student’s class adviser, and Eunho got the go signal from everyone.
Professor Ham Geunhyung, Jegal, Cheon Dongha, and the head of the newspaper department all agreed.
Eunho said that he wanted to join the same club as me and that it was a shame that I didn’t join one during college.
‘Still, it’ll be better if he considers the student council as his main organization. It’s best if he reports under the newspaper department infrequently. The newspaper department has lots of members this year, so it shouldn’t be too burdensome doing the work.’
Just like that, following Hwang Jiho, another tiger joined the newspaper department.
Other than our clubs, our curriculum also leveled up.
From learning theories in our freshman year, we’re now focused more on practical skills.
Different from our freshman year, we’re now allowed to join and create parties on our own, encouraging us to be more active in targeting otherworlds.
“Hunting Party for the wanted Choi Pyeondeuk? I didn’t know they still exist. I guess I can train my combat skills there, so I want to join!”
Saeum of April, whose attention was recently drawn to several parties, said so.
Choi Pyeondeuk is the one who sold Saeum of April at the Hwanmong Auction.
He seemed nervous when he first saw the name, but he seems to have shaken it off now.
‘They won’t succeed in hunting Choi Pyeondeuk, but I guess he can gain a lot of achievements from signing up.
It’s a hunting party for the non-existent Choi Pyeondeuk, so what’s the harm?
“Hyodon-ah, you don’t look too good. What’s wrong?”
“I have a math test tomorrow.”
“My goodness, you enrolled in a math course again.”
“It turned out that way somehow…”
Some people made reckless choices too.
Maeng Hyodon is headed to hell with a math course for sophomores.
It’s been less than a month since the semester started, and Maeng Hyodon seemed half out of his mind.
I wonder if he can get through this semester safely.
‘I can’t help right now since I’ve got something to do after classes, but I should make him study starting tomorrow.’
I made a plan on how I could make Maeng Hyodon study while I walked to the place I was supposed to go to after school.
I walked to MITRON, intending to ask Ryu Jang something.
To know my pieces and make the best move, I had to find out what he did at the Fomorian auction.

thanks for the chapter.
…. so, would that means that the Oh family has constantly been under surveillance since the day the contract was in effect? and the prime suspects are high members of Do/ Cheon/ Namgung family?? but I think that this person was from Joo family instead of those three tho… somehow
But, what’s more problematic was that even the slightest move would be reported and dealt with?? awesome vigilance, eh
as for the stonehead Hyodon decision… welp, you loved your middle school math teacher that much?? so much that you willingly walk over and jumped into the deep hole that is your most hopeless subject?? sweet but foolish
the should-have-been member of current class 1-0 joined Jiikhoe?? wow, will he turn their headquarters into a makeshift lab?? more headache for mr. Shinrok… hang in there this year, mister.

Thanks for the update! Hyodon’s determination is very admirable. I am sentimental, but to take a math class because of it… It’s a shame, I used to be okay with it, but now school is school and i’m never taking one unless it’s absolutely mandatory. Anyways, Eunho is doubling up? It’s one thing if it’s two regular clubs, but to also have the work heavy student council.. Well, Eunho is very talented and smart. He’ll make it work. I’ll leave it here for today.

Thanks for the chapter, Ms. Translator! (☆ω☆)
So much information! Nice! I hope Bbang Shuttle will study under Professor Tak Geosan again. ( ´ ω ` )
The Oh family history is impressive. To cut out the will in the middle… why didn’t he use them instead of destroying them?
Nice chapter as always, and looking forward for more! ヽ(*⌒▽⌒*)ノ
