EX rank supporting role’s replay in a prestigious school - Chapter 787
Unlike when he received the academic award, Do Wonwoo calmly gave his valedictory speech.
His three years in Eungwang High were relayed in his speech.
The graduates who listened laughed and cried in reminisce of the past three years.
Do Wonwoo didn’t try to change the sunken atmosphere.
Realizing that goodbye is sad no matter how he wraps it up, he seemed determined to accept it resolutely.
By the time he was thanking the teachers and his juniors, the other third graders seemed to be ready to accept saying goodbye.
“Our three-year journey has ended, and we are off to have a new beginning. I will treasure the time and relationships I’ve built in Eungwang High as I move forward.”
Do Wonwoo’s valedictory speech ended with heartfelt greetings.
He returned to his seat amid the applause, a look on his face that seemed to shake off lingering feelings.
With today as an opportunity, Do Wonwoo will take another step forward.
Do Wonwoo moved on, but I couldn’t.
‘Can Do Wonwoo be happy?’
Do Wonwoo’s happiness was one thing, but there was nothing I could do because neither he nor I could hand it to him.
Next, it was time for the graduation song, Auld Lang Syne.
As it is customary, all the managers of the music-related clubs and small groups were in charge of the accompaniment.
Under the direction of the head of the orchestra, an unheard-of combination of piano, taepyeongso, electric guitar, cello, french horn, maracas, and kkwaenggwari began.
(T/N: Taepyeongso is a flute-like instrument, while the kkwaenggwari is a small gong instrument.)
‘The managers in PMH either died or couldn’t play anymore, so the graduation ended with a recorded song.’
I wonder if it’s because the quality of their performance is exquisite, or is it because there are a large number of people who sang the words “my dear” being sung was high-pitched and lively.
It was a somber song, but everyone laughed and smiled while singing along.
The same was true for the last line.
Let’s sing for the day we meet again.
“Congratulations again on your graduation. This day is a new beginning. We cheer for the upcoming journeys of the Eungwang High graduates.”
Jegal gave his ending comment, making the graduates cry again.
As if to soothe the graduates, Jegal finished the ceremony with a smile.
“Finally, the graduates can now throw their hats to end the graduation ceremony.”
While the third graders threw their hats, Jegal wrote big letters in the air.
Words of congratulations written with his Spiritual Word skill floated to the ceiling of Sangin Hall with warm light.
It was sort of a celebratory performance, but in fact, it was also for safety.
‘Without it, the Sangin Hall could collapse and people could get hurt.’
Five hundred players throwing their graduation caps is like five hundred weapons being launched.
Even regular schools’ graduation ceremonies have regulations when throwing graduation caps.
The graduates trusted Jegal’s power and comfortably threw their hats high.
“Three, two, one…!”
The moment the graduates threw their caps, the figure I was watching made a strange move.
Woo Kihwan sent a signal somewhere.
‘Woo Kihwan is about to do something. He’s going to cause trouble where the main forces of Eungwang HIgh are present?’
Other than me, the people in charge of monitoring Class 3-0 also noticed.
Hwang Jiho and Im Yeonhwa raised their energy waves.
But nothing strange happened.
Waaah!
Amid the cheers from the guests and graduates, hats of all kinds rose above the sky.
Some graduates threw their hats with energy waves, so the Sangin Hall was flooded with lights of all colors.
The ceremony ended safely after Ji Myunsoo used his light skill to collect the fallen hats.
Woo Kihwan seemed to have something unexpected happened, seeing that he was looking around with his eyes wide open.
Something he was expecting to happen didn’t happen.
‘Did someone stop them?’
Then, I heard Do Shihoo and Jang Namwook talking.
The two were looking at the ceiling of Sangin Hall, beyond the letters written by Jegal.
“Namwook-ah, what’s that?”
“Yeah.”
Starlight briefly glimmered in Jang Namwook’s eyes.
He saw something with his Eye of the Star Maiden.
“There is something out there. Must’ve been a big deal.”
“Let’s go check it out!”
Wondering what the hell happened, we went outside at Do Shihoo’s suggestion.
Yoo Sanghoon was too lazy to go, but he eventually followed.
People are busy taking pictures now so I can’t see my seniors anyway, so I had some time left.
We headed to the roof of the Sangin Hall, and when I opened the door, I saw a midair garden.
“Oh, so there’s a midair garden in Eungwang High. It’s not visible from the ground.”
“I think this is made of energy…”
The two cadets spoke peacefully when they saw the floating garden.
This wasn’t installed by Eungwang High.
This was a decoy, a garden used by Class 3-0 when they were in pursuit of the energy of the universe.
“Oh hey, the Suspicious VP is here. Everything must be sorted out already!”
Moon Saeron jumped out of the garden, looking very happy.
It felt like a lie since not too long ago, she was shooting daggers at me about the Joo Soohyuk and Ahn Dain fiasco.
“What happened?”
“Of course, I’ll explain it!”
According to Moon Saeron, Class 3-0 tried to do something when the graduates threw their hats.
Part of their operation was to cause a scene before the ceremony.
They were divided into two and made a fuss outside Sangin Hall, and the other summoned an aerial garden loaded with their secret weapon.
‘They took advantage of Sangin Hall’s strong boundary which made it difficult to sense outside presence.’
Still, Hwang Jiho would’ve noticed it, and I wondered why he didn’t do anything, but I soon heard the answer.
Moon Saeron beckoned with a low voice.
“And I’m the first to notice Class 3-0’s conspiracy!”
Above the aerial garden were Joo Soohyuk and Ahn Dain, seeming to be in their own world.
Joo Soohyuk was asking Ahn Dain with a serious expression, while Ahn Dain nodded and answered as they walked.
It was a pleasant sight to see.
“It’s the kid that Soohyuk likes. They look good together.”
“It’s amazing that they’re still not dating.”
Jang Namwook and Do Shihoo said as they looked at the two.
I can’t believe even they know about Eungwang High’s official couple!
It was understandable since Jang Namwook knew Joo Soohyuk after the basketball game, while Do Shihoo had known him for quite some time.
‘Those two would’ve crushed Class 3-0’s plans. Is Joo Soohyuk okay?’
Joo Soohyuk has been acting weird around Ahn Dain lately.
Noticing my concern, Moon Saeron explained triumphantly.
At the end of the graduation, the Class Zero seniors tried to release a teaser video that heralded their re-entry to school and showdown with the strong homeroom teacher.
The aerial garden was supposed to attract attention, and equipment specialized for such a move was prepared.
‘A device that can project images beyond boundaries… Is it harmless? It wouldn’t have been easy to make.’
Joo Soohyuk and Ahn Dain were on outside patrol at the time.
It wasn’t a coincidence.
The Student Association and Student Council wanted to know what to do with those two, and Moon Saeron was waiting for the supportive shot.
Then, the two found an aerial garden on the roof of Sangin Hall.
“It was full of tricks and traps to stop intervention.”
Moon Saeron devoted herself to covering the garden, while Joo Soohyuk and Ahn Dain started to explore.
The seniors were against the strong homeroom teacher, so of course, they set up traps strong enough to catch even people of royal lineage.
Because of the garden’s smaller size, there were no traps like the ones from Cheonik Mountain, but it was still good.
“The two of them are mostly even, but not during this one.”
Ahn Dain showed overwhelming inaction.
The two were the best geniuses who were on par with each other, but Moon Saeron said that Ahn Dain’s performance was so great that Joo Soohyuk’s light seemed to fade.
It was inevitable.
Joo Soohyuk had been depressed since the Bang Yoonseob incident, and because of the misunderstanding caused by Hwang Jiho.
But what about Ahn Dain?
‘Her goal now is to get stronger. She got a new family and a teacher.’
Ahn Dain decided to be Kim Shinrok’s disciple, and she met her new family, the tiger couple.
The couple is teaching Ahn Dain too.
It’s only natural to see a difference.
“But after seeing Dain-nim’s outstanding performance, President Joo finally came to his senses!”
While Ahn Dain was a person he adored, she was also a rival.
Their grades are perfect for all subjects, and their powers are similar.
They were shoulder-to-shoulder, and if he didn’t step up, Joo Soohyuk would be left out.
At that moment, Joo Soohyuk shook off his anguish and regained his clear mind.
When they cleared the garden, Joo Soohyuk immediately asked Ahn Dain,
— Dain-ah, after the graduation ceremony, do you wanna…
As soon as Joo Soohyuk was about to finish his sentence, Moon Saeron’s mouth dropped and expectations soared.
She thought he was about to ask her on a date.
But the words that followed disappointed Moon Saeron.
— Battle?
Ahn Dain happily said “battle.”
Moon Saeron was so out of breath, but I was still satisfied.
‘The title hero has overcome his crisis without me having to do anything.’
Misunderstandings will be cleared up once the two of them talk.
Joo Soohyuk would understand now.
The reason for his crisis was Ahn Dain, but the reason he’ll overcome it is also her.
My heart was full just thinking about it.
“I’ll wrap things up. You two should rest.”
Kim Yuri, who appeared while Moon Saeron was explaining, suggested so.
I was very much in favor of her suggestion.
Kim Yuri and the other members of the Student Association agreed, leaving the two in a world of their own.
While I walked away with a warm mood, I checked my device.
The words made my heart sink once again.
[Joo Soogyeom] I’m here.

THIS. DISAPPOINTMENT. OF. AN. ML
be thankful that this story wasn’t about romance.
the 3-0 lunatics really want to re-enroll to the school?? and the should-have-been opening gongs was the floating garden and many secrets weapons installed within?? what a madness. I really pity the normal teachers there. LOL
…hmm?? the one Euishin had contacted is him?? not the Oh family member?? what’s the motive??

Thanks for the update! Graduations and such are bittersweet. It’s not nice to disrupt such a important event. I don’t have much to say today, but I’m glad Soohyuk is finally better. I like how it was done too. Because of respect, and rivalry. Being a fool for your love can be nice and all, but get back on your feet Soohyuk!

Thanks for the chapter, Ms. Translator! (´• ω •`)
Oh, that would be interesting to see, I wonder how things would have unfolded if their plan had succeeded. ( ^ ^ )
Nice chapter as always, and looking forward for more! (☆▽☆)
